The Old Hut sleeps about 30 in dorm beds (linen available for 2000kr) with cooking facilities. The New Hut has private rooms (28,500kr) with shared bathrooms, and no cooking facilities. There’s also a campsite, simple cafe and store. Helpful staff assist with information on local hiking trails. They also operate the Áfangi hut, about 38km north, near Blöndulón reservoir.
The small cafe (open 7am to 10pm) offers breakfast (1800kr), and there are soups, sandwiches, cakes, and hot dishes such as fish bake, or chicken and potatoes (mains 2900kr to 3100kr). Offers wi-fi hotspot for a fee.
